Attempted murder charges submitted in carjacking car assault of 2 elderly females

Jeffco District Attorney Pete Weir announced that charges have been filed in the carjacking and assaults of two elderly women in Lakewood. Robert Eugene Harrison, DOB: 10-27-78, appeared in court on October 28, 2020 where he was advised that he has been charged with four counts of Attempted First Degree Murder (F2); four counts of First Degree Assault (F3); four counts of Aggravated Robbery (F3); two counts of Robbery of an At-Risk Person (F3); two counts of Theft from an At-Risk Adult (F3); four counts of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft (F5); two counts of Vehicular Eluding (F5); Obstructing a Peace Officer (M2); Driving Under Revocation (M1); and two violent crime counts.

On October 12, 2020 Lakewood police were called to 490 Benton Street in response to a robbery. According to the arrest affidavit, when they arrived they found two females lying on the driveway, bleeding. One of the women was 89-years-old, the other was 78-years-old. Both women were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. It is alleged that Harrison stole the car by pulling the two elderly women from the car. As drove away he ran over the two women.

Harrison was arrested on October 21, 2020.

He is being on a $1M bond at the Jefferson County jail. He is due back in court for preliminary hearing on November 17, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
